A dreamlike but dark story of lost innocence and the random justice of nature, told with curious images from a distant childhood. When an idol is found in the stomach of a rabbit, great riches follow, but for how long?
The above is a brief synopsis from animate!, on a short named Rabbit by Run Wrake. It caught my eye earlier this year when I first saw it. In fact, I liked it so much I bought the DVD and sent it to a friend of mine, who's a working cartoonist-to-be. Anyway, it talks of greed, deceit and lost innocence. Who doesn't like all of that? *smirk*

On a not-so-totally different topic. I'm just about to finish this ol' book called As You Think by Marc Allen, which in actually a 2nd edition from the original book As A Man Thinketh by James Allen [no relation to one another]. Remembering that I purchased the original version back in my college days, and last week coming across it again at a bookstore... quite a treat to pick it up again. It was a good read then, and it's still a good read now.
The aphorism, "As we think in our hearts so are we," not only embraces the whole of our being, but it is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of our lives. We are literally what we think, our character being the complete sum of all our thoughts.
As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every one of our acts springs from the hidden seeds of our thoughts, and could not have appeared without them. This applies equally to those acts called "spontaneous" and "unpremeditated" as to those that are deliberately executed.
Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits; thus do we gather in the sweet and bitter fruits of our own planting.
What we are was designed and built by our own thoughts in our minds. If we nurture ignorant or evil thoughts, pain will soon follow. If our thoughts are healthy and beneficial, joy will follow us as surely as our shadows follow us on a sunny day.
Text: James Allen
But again I ask: Are we truly who we think we are? Have a fantastic weekend everyone. Safe and soundly.

OK, I didn't see the video until this morning. I'd have to say it was interesting how things we think would make things different isn't always the case. Made me think of that Lighthouse song I told you a while ago.
I've kinda wondered how people think about me and granted some have told me, I just don't think about it much. It's nice to know but not letting it get to my head is what keeps me grounded it seems. I just do what I do since it's what comes natural. The one I always get is that I'm sweet lol but whatevs, I wouldn't know what sweet is like if it smacked me in the face.
Making peace with one's self can be hard but given time, one can get there. Shoot, it took me a long time to get to a point where I've accepted who I am, no upgrade necessary. We'll always be a work in progress but it doesn't necessarily mean that there's anything wrong with us the way we are.
OK, I'm rambling now. It's real quiet on a Tuesday here at work and I sooo like this sometimes. Coworkers doesn't come in 'til 9...

Cool images, Robert.
Your post is interesting because I've been thinking of similar things all week. It seems the universe is trying to tell me something. I've been wondering how I've been contributing to my life as it is in the moment, and what I can do to align it with my vision of how I'd like for it to be. I think it may relate back to me believing that I deserve anything better than what I have, which is interesting because people often tell me how confident, emotionally stable, and intelligent I seem. If they only knew...

Thanks for putting up the video! I saw it a while back and thought that it was really quite interesting, fresh and dark but with a purposeful lesson behind it :)
I think in reality we wouldn't be too far off from what we think we are--we should know ourselves quite a bit by now ;) But it's a totally different matter what others see as us though...
Hope you had a good weekened! It's Monday morning here!

I'm not sure it is possible for each of us to see ourselves as others see us. ...I'm not even sure I want to.
And, it is hard to really know yourself.
I find I'm a bit unpredictable. I wonder, sometimes, if I'm not a bit off the center of sanity. Not crazy or anything, but my view on thins seems to be somehow "off" from most people. I fit more into that fringe element of our world.
But, being cool matters to me.
I think, too, that to be cool the secret is to just not care what others think and to go your own way on your own path and enjoy it as much as you can! ...and to hell with those who don't agree --- as long as you're not hurting others.
...or rabbits.

My relationship with people often surprises me with the truth of who I am--and sometimes it conflicts of who I think I am. I grew up being an introvert who doesn't show his feelings and thrives at all expense to conceal all emotions. No matter how hard people try plying and plodding, they have no clue whether I'm happy or not. But when I get older and meet some of the closest friends I've ever had in my life, things begin to change and I'm almost more outspoken than some people want me to be!

I'm working on what other people think about me and what I think about me. I can be my worst enemy at times but I'm working on fixing that.
You have a good weekend bud!! Enjoy the sun :D
