I was just listening to the song by Donna Summer, the Patrick Cowley's 15+ minute Megamix; which I still don't think it's long enough! Have you heard? God I love this f*cking song! I think this is one of the best, if not THE best, disco track that was ever written!! Have I told you how much I love disco? heh!
Anyway, why am I feeling love? Because of some of you fellow bloggers out there, that's why! I've been wanting to say thank you's to many of you who have sent me all the little gifts through the years!!!
Just yesterday I got 2 CDs from Ryan, last week another CD from Preston and also a DVD from Dave!!! Earlier I got a personal art print from Lola, a book from Kevin-Andrew and Kris, a CD set and tee shirts from Jay, buncha goodies [too many to mention] from Wayne and cards from bloggers all over. And also from Stuart, who isn't really a blogger and someone who I've yet to met, but he's been sending me stuff from way back!!! I feel blessed, maybe that's more appropriate!
Right now I'm listening to the Hooked on Classics series, remember those? And Stars on 45? How could anyone not remember them? hahaha! I'll be sending some oldies to Davey soon, and I still need to send the discs out to Sushil and Jennifer as well. I haven't forgotten guys. I promise! Anyway, this week I should re-categorize all the tracks from my Radio.Blog. I shall have an 80's and a Disco category. It's the right thing to do! heh!
Just want to say thanks again everyone! I really, really appreciate it!! Human League's Seconds is on now, gotta run!! Happy Hump Day!

I think I should send you a Cantopop old school CD since I don't listen to anything else. :)
My brother listens to nothing but Cantopop, too. He and I are very different. I'm oldskoolz since I only listen to Anita Mui and Sam Hui as far as Cantopop goes! heh!

Oooh, I love that song! Probably one of the few disco songs I like, well, that and 'Don't Leave Me This Way' by Thelma Houston. mmmhmmm.
Happy birthday!!
My goodness, I thought you stopped blogging for sure... Well, am glad that you're back. Good that you're traveling cuz from the sound of it, you absolutely love traveling! Nice! 'Don't Leave Me This Way', ooh I like that song too, but I think I prefer The Communards' version better, I especially love watching Jimmy dance in that video! :-)

After all those cD's you've sent out, it is all coming back to you! haha I took a stroll down memory lane watching old "Schoolhouse Rock" videos on Youtube.
Schoolhouse Rock! ehehe! I remember those, but not too much. I also remember those ABC's Afterschool Specials... tho I rarely watched any of those either cuz 1) I didn't speak a lick of English at the time and 2) I was out ridin' my skateboard most of the days!

M-kay. Here's some fag history 101 from one who was there. The lyric is from Donna's "Faster and Faster to Nowhere" on her "Once Upon a Time" album. "Thank God It's Friday" was her big screen debut and her only movie role in which she introduced "Last Dance" and became a mainstream success after years of being a gay disco only star. It's a dreadful flck that lacks even the camp value of "Roller Boogie". That one is worth it to check out Linda Blair on skates.
WOW! You sure know a whole lot more than I do. Regarding disco and other trivia as well. As for me, I've been living under a giant rock. Are any of these movies on Netflix? I've only heard about Roller Boogie. The only campy movies that I own are Can't Stop The [Friggin'] Music and Xanadu. With such arsenals, I think I'm already gayer than gay. Thanks for the tip Gregg! xoxo

Trivia question of my favorite Donna Summer lyric of all time:
"It's a nightmare...daymare...It's a bad mare not matter which way mare..."
Name the song and album. Hint, pre-Thank God It's Friday.
You totally got me on this one! Then again, of course I could just Google it and... ahaha, I won't. I'll have to write you an email to find the ultimate truth to this nagging question! :-) I don't even know what TGIF is? She did an album with that name? D'oh!

I'm listening to Love is Everything by K.D. Lang while I'm reading this
I love that song I Feel Love too, your music always makes me feel good!
Feel the love bubbas
You really like that song don't you? I do, too! Have you heard the original version by Jane Siberry?
I've always thought that the song I Feel Love is like the mother of all disco songs. :-)

Even though I've never sent you anything, you're welcome.
I have never heard the Patrick Cowley remix of "I Feel Love," and as I was purusing the British singles charts from th early 80s, I thought I'd like to find it and hear it.
I've loaded playlists by year on my iPod. Last night I was listening to 1979, which is interesting because you have the post punk and the disco living together in perfect harmony.
I love the Human League. Dare is still my favorite album, although Secrets is very nice, too. There's something about "The Sound of the Crowd," "Love Action (I Believe in Love)," "Open Your Heart," and "Don't You Want Me?" that is so right.
I uploaded it on the Disko section. Not sure if you'd like it, but it's different. I also like the Rollo & Sister Bliss remix. Have you heard? These days, a lot of mixes are just off the wall, most I don't prefer. It's nice to stay true to the original y'know! :-)
Nice idea that you categorize your songs by year on your iPod. I've never thought of that, that I think that would be too much trouble for me to figure out the years! I'm just lazy methinks.
Yeah, Dare is my fave album, too, from HL.. Love and Dancing is just the perfect accompaniment don't you think? They rock!!!

I do so love that song. ...you know, I've heard that mix, but none works as well for me as Georgio's original 12 inch mix from the 70's. It just never seems to age!?!?!?!
...My mom had this way cool tight fitting shirt she used to wear back then that had that 70's lettering that read "I feel love" ...it was pink.
...how i wish i had it!!!!
she, of course, forgets ever having owned it. ugh!
You're absolutely right Matty. I do like Georgio's version much better. His just feels right, kept to the original music and it just flows better. The Crowley version is a bit loud with the synthesizer! haha!
Oh those darn tees!! With 'em fuzzy letters or the tres kool glam-glitters!!! Love them all! Will you be sporting one of those soon? Wear one that says *Bitchin'* on it or something, that would be rad!!

You now I have all the Stars on 45, 45's, buried in my closet with all the rest of thie things I'm trying to hide from the world. As far as Donna Summer is concerned, nothing comes close to the 18 min MacArthur Park Suite. The hand clap section of "One of a Kind" is classic.
Thanks for dropping by Mark!! I didn't have the LP for Stars, I only had the single. Those dang 45s are so much fun to play! MacArthur Park Suite, yeah, have to dig that one up again!!!! They sure don't make music like they used to anymore. Funny that I'm listening to Stars on 45, right now. It says it's the Abba Medley, but it has buncha other stuff in it!?!

"I Feel Love" is a good song, but I still prefer "On the Radio." You know, I think she's the only recording artist I've heard whose voice has become better, stronger as the years pass.
Oh On The Radio is rad!!! From that album, I think my fave is Sunset People!! I love that song, too. That whole 'gatefold' album was great. Yeah, I also download her live CD from a few years ago. I still think she's great. Oh and The Wanderer, I remember getting that 45's! ahaha!

The local CBS affiliate in Anderson, SC where I grew up used the beginning of "I Feel Love" as the news theme. No kidding. I didn't realize it until I bought a K-Tel album with the song on it.
Have you heard the original 17 minute version of "Love To Love You, Baby" where she is writhing around on the studio floor touching her now devout Christian vagina in the process? It's excellent!
And how -- HOW -- could you miss my excellent post about Stars On 45? I'm crushed. :)
K-Tel, goodness gracious, are they still around? heh! Oh yeah, L2LUBaby, who can forget that. She sure did a great job on that one. I wonder what was she on?!? And I bet you can moan a whole lot better than her. ooh la la!

Donna Summer in her prime is always welcome. However the Stars on 45 and Hooked on series call up many bad memories of long car rides where folks would pop them in to "keep us energized." Ugh, they're awful.
Ahaha. I love all those crappy, I mean campy songs! Funny that I'm listening to Stars now as I type. I was still a bit young then, I grew to like a lot of stuff. I guess it's kinda like stick-it-in-my-face-and-I'll-eat-it that sorta mentality! :-O
