Bridge to Terabithia

Bridge to Terabithia.

Alec and I rented Bridge to Terabithia and watched it Friday night. We were going to see it in the theatre when it first came out but never got the chance. Have you seen it? I don't usually go to movies that are catered for kids, but this one made quite an impact on both of us. We never read the book but somewhere in the middle of the movie, we found ourselves teary-eyed! The real magic of the movie is the relationship between the 2 characters... Happysad.

After the movie, that night I found myself downloading the track Keep Your Mind Wide Open from the soundtrack. It's one of those bubble-gumish songs... But I know I'm a geek, so I guess that makes it somewhat okay! :-) Now I might have to either get the book or the DVD. Or both.

Rent it if you get a chance. I think you'll enjoy it! Have a great Monday.

i saw 'the fountain' the other week...have you seen that?

Jef:

I read the book in college for a children's literature class and fell in love with it. I always thought that one day I would adapt it into a movie, but I was beat to it. When I saw the preview, it looked more Lord of the Rings than the book I remembered.

Ahaha, don't let the preview fool you! As you know from reading the book previously, the story has so much more than meets the eye! :-)

Oh, I have been meaning to see that flick!

Sorry I've been out of touch - and thanks for the blog comments.

I am glad to hear you don't wear socks with sandals - sneakers without socks are just fine -- just so you know. *WINK*

See it when you get a chance. It's quite meditative... well to me anyway! heh! Welcome back from your vacation Jeffrey!! xoxo

Oh, and if I hate it, you shall be flogged. Heheh.

Well in that case, I hope you really, really hate it! ;-) *drops pants*

Ok, wasn't gonna see it, but now I gotta. As Troy will tell you, I can get all weepy at movies - and will see this one on your recommendation.

I hope it doesn't disappoint! Tho certain scenes with the soundtrack music playing, I was skipping over those! heh!

Never heard of it. But now I'll check it out. Thanks

Ah, hope you enjoy it! Say, just saw your email.. just noticed that your name is Dan! Now I know! :-)

Howard stole my comment...hmmph!....but I too found it difficult to not bawl in the theater...very touching movie!

heh! I wished I saw this in the theatre... I would've bawled, too! I just thought the 2 main actors really did a great job on this. The boy was in Firehouse Dog too, which I have no interest! ahah!

Say, thanks for dropping by again Christopher!! :-)

I loved this movie, it reminded me much of my childhood, I told my little sister to watch it, and she called me crying her eyes out. Hope you've been doing great!

D

I never read the book... What was going to happen in the movie wasn't too surprising, quite foreseenable, but when it did happen, I was sad... A good movie indeedy. So you think you love it more than I do? ehehe! Hope you're doing great too Derek! xoxo

OK -- I'm going to see it upon your recommendation!

kisses,
matty

Hope it doesn't disappoint! :-) We're gonna watch The Last Mimzy this weekend, we'll see how that goes!! heh!

Robert, I am glad that you two liked the film. I am glad to know that I am not the only sentimental fool.

I heard about the book a long time ago and even had it but had never read it until I heard it was coming out. I read it and it made me cry. Then I saw the movie and it made me cry too. I liked the movie better. I will have to get the dvd later. PJ

We can all be sentimental fools sometimes! heh! I had the book in my hand the other day at Borders, but didn't get it! Tho I did get the movie 2 days ago... and I've been watching it with the audio commentary... with the 2 main actors... funny kids!

I watched it at the video store the other day and in the middle of a rush found myself trying not to bawl. What the hell? Yes, it was a wonderful film, but I wasn't expecting a Disney/Walden Media film to get so dark.

It made the experience all the more surreal and wonderful.

Yeah, I don't normally see children's movies really, but I do love this one - lots! The movie may not be for everyone, but nonetheless, I think they did a great job!
