Holidays

Lights.

It's all Jef's fault y'know! He mentioned Enya in his last entry and that got me thinking, that I thought I was the only one who likes her!?! I remember back in the 80's, KROQ [our famous local alternative music station] used to play Orinoco Flow quite often! Who knew! Now they would be caught dead to play such a song.

So this is one of my fave tracks of hers: The Magic of The Night. I'm ready for the holidays I think, I even started buying gifts already. I was going to play Halloween by Siouxsie and The Banshees on my Radioblog, but I'll wait 'til next week. Did you know that they play that song during the end credits in Monster House? Anyway, I know I'm way early, but going shopping with Dave the other day, there was nothing but Christmas cards and decorations all over the stores. How could I NOT think about the holidays! "Hello Davey!!"

I admit, this will be the first and last time I'm gonna write about Enya! ehehe! Are you ready for the holidays? 'til next time, and hopefully I'll have more to say by then! :-)

Holidays? Holidaze!

Jef:

I remember playing "Orinoco Flow" in my bedroom back in '88 when my mom walked in. She asked if I was listening to nun music. I explained it was Enya. "In ya?" she asked in a strong Texas accent. Ten years later, she told me she was listening to some Irish girl named Enya, and asked if I ever heard of her. I smiled and nodded my head.

My favorite Enya song is "On My Way Home," but I have a special memory to the remix of "Storms in Africa." My friend Joan and I had bought yogurt from TCBY and sat in my VW bug watching the setting sun paint the breaking storm clouds in the sky. We sat in silence until the song was over and then talked about how neat it was. We still bring it up to this day.

i was going to write a post, but i think a comment is much more personal. there again i do have a post in my head so watch out.

thank you so much for a wonderful sunday my friend. christmas already? i bought my christmas cards LOL i was amazed that christmas items were already up. it happens earlier and earlier every year it seems. thank you for the lunch, the laughs and the tears. thank you for seeing my life. thank you for putting up with my pier one obsession.

Hello there! Nice blog and very nice pic.

Enya is one of my favourites too, I like to listen to her when I study.

I am excited about the Holidays too.

Btw, I am Erik from Whittle et al.

I Loves me some Enya & yeah she reminds me of Xmas too...aww, those were the goold Ol' KROQ days...now, not into that station so much.

urspo:

hohoho
Enya is my ultimate goddess ! I luv her so.

Matt:

Christmas already?

What about Halloween?

What about my birthday?

What about turkey day?

Yeah, I know. Christmas cards are stacking high at the stores. Light bulbs are dangling off the windows.

That means I'll be flying over the Hong Kong to visit my family soon. :)

By the way, *luv* your picture. :)

Oh I love her, my brother does too and he's straight. It's still magical to me. I havn't listened to any of her new stuff though.

You know, I don't think you're all that early --- all the store have pulled out their xmas displays.

scary.

Enya. I remember when her sounds seemed so cool and interesting. Now, I don't know. Her magic is lost on me. ...but, she does remind me of Christmas. ...and Galveston island.

Juju and Join Hands are my two favorite Siouxsie & The Banshees albums -- tho I'd be hard pressed to find one I didn't like -- except Superstition and The Rapture. But even then there is at least one great song on each LP.

I never liked Enya -- except that beautiful song she sings in Lord Of The Rings.

I guess I always felt like her music was soundtrack music in search of a visual.

Mean, I know.
