Le Scaphandre et Le Papillon

The Diving Bell and The Butterfly.

I watched the trailer this weekend and it made me want to see the film... Maybe this next weekend when I have some time.

The Diving Bell and The Butterfly is the remarkable true story of Jean-Dominique Bauby, a successful and charismatic editor-in-chief of French Elle, who believes he is living his life to its absolute fullest when a sudden stroke leaves him in a life-altered state. While the physical challenges of Bauby's fate leave him with little hope for the future, he begins to discover how his life's passions, his rich memories and his newfound imagination can help him achieve a life without boundaries.

Here's the U.S. trailer, a short review from NPR and the official site from the movie. I want to see it cuz I like how the film was shot, and the colors and the music...

What movie do you want to see? Oright, better turn off the radio before you play the trailer. heh. Hope you all had a grrreat weekend.

He, he.... I didn't know my HunnyBunny listens to National Public Radio! Or maybe NPR stands for Naturally Preferring Robert. I would listen to that station too...

Swinging by to say hello. Long time no hear. Interesting movie.

Your blog layout with the inverted barren tree is very serene.

I'm going to avoid this movie. There's something about it that makes me feel intensely claustrophobic. I fear that I will one day be trapped inside my head and seeing that fear on screen would be enough to induce a panic attack. Do enjoy tho.

Looks like a very interesting movie, I think I will try to see it. Actually I know of a woman who was very out-going, independent and well travelled, the same thing happened where she is now in a wheelchair and has to depend on everyone for every little thing, it is very hard on her.

That book broke my heart -- I know it was supposed to inspire me, but it just made me feel sad. I'm sure the film will be amazing. That director, a painter originally, is always brilliant with a camera -- and that will be required to take us into the man's head. And, that is some cast.

...but I've a feeling I will skip it this year.

I guess I am quite curious about the new documentary on Kurt Cobain. It is here now. I might check it out.

...of course, talk about depressing.

This is on my "list of movies to see soon"....thanks for the reminder!

xoxo
