Art of ZTT

aon.jpg

Well more like one of the iconic children of Zang Tuum Tumb! ZTT also gave birth to ACT, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Grace Jones, The Buggles and my other fave, Propaganda. Daah, here I am talking 'bout music again. Actually, what got me started listening to AON again was when my friend Stuart W. sent me an Easter gift package, one item being the 20th Anniversary double-disc Into Battle with the Art of Noise... It just brought back plenty-good memories.

Anyway, I think Legs [Inside Leg Mix] is prolly my fave song by AON! Remember the image of the horse from the vinyl cover? I was attending art school at the time and I soooo plagiarized that image!! I remember copying and blowing up that graphic of the horse onto a 5 by 6ft canvas along with other numerous crap on it! It was big and it was beautifully copied stolen rendered... inspired by the AON. Awful innit? But I was only 20, and that was like half my lifetime ago.

I guess I could mention a bit about this past weekend, but I shall wait 'til next time. I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and a great week to come. 'til next time... Rock on [with the drum machine]!!

I used to buy any records from them or 4AD...

...and I miss AON and all the cool LP covers that those two labels brought us!

The art of the cover to our music is just gone.

...unless one picks up an expensive bit of limited vinyl. CD booklets never worked and those digital booklets on iTunes are even worse.

Oh well.

"You can't stop progress!"

I will have to listen to that song sometime.

urspo:

have you ever heard the expression
"I've got more legs than a bucket of chicken"?

Trevor Horn (the mastermind producer behind ZTT and the acts you name) is, in my opinion, one of the most talented producers in contemporary music.

I love me some Art Of Noise!

lola:

Propaganda? That really brings back memories...

Wow, there are some band names I have not heard in a while. I am listening to your play list at this moment.
