Y'know I've always wanted to do a photograph like this one... with the lens kissing the sun!
I was a bit inspired last night after work... Alec had dinner engagement with his coworkers so after I got home, I pulled out [and dusted off] the camera and tripod and set it up out in the backyard while the sun was still out. Originally I tried to take the pictures without my tripod, hand holding it at arm's length but I really didn't feel like seeing myself über up close! Bleh! Too scary if you ask me. Took about 20 shots and I think this one I prefer the most. Brought it into Adobe Camera Raw and did some minor tweaking. It turned out mostly how I imagined, though I think it looks a wee bit better at 600 x 400 pixels - a meager 13% compared to its original size at 4288 x 2848! Doh!
Seems like I only snap pictures when I'm inspired. Not much of a photographer really... more so a hobbyist I reckon. By far I don't take as many photos like my fellow bloggers do... Maybe I should just call myself THE LAZY PHOTOGRAPHER. I think Pod might like that... :-)
Good Wednesday everyone! xoxo
PS. Oh crappity, re-reading my post... I realized it's only Tuesday!

Happy birthday - glad to see you taking more pics. We are having a little party for your birthday buddy during the day at the beach (on his actual birthday-natch). Let's go out and celebrate again within the week if you can!
xo,
B

I love the picture as well. I always love it when the sun's rays can be captured and you have done it well here. You just re-affirmed what I had been thinking about the clarity of a photo based on its resolution. It seems the smaller it is, the better the photo is without so much "grain" in the photo. Thanks for sharing!
I am glad to see that you have dusted off the camera. Now do some pointing and shooting! Exhibit that talent of yours.
Oh, and the day is almost here. ;-)

I like this shot. It's the rays from the sun softening the harsh lines of the building yet also strengthening the angles of your body...AND it has a very vintage feel to it...feels very 1970's. Thanks for sharing!!

I must admit, that I've been painfully out of inspiration as of late...for writing or photography. I loved your shot. Thanks for sharing.

Ooh ... I always like backlit photographs. They leave so much to interpretation. It also reminds me of the image used on the Goldfrapp's "A&E."
If I lived in Los Angeles, you would show me how to use my camera, and we would take photographs all the time.

that is lovely!
it looks like an aura; energy from the Divine radiating down on the 7th chakra like a deposit to your Grace Account.
