We've heard that many times! But what happens when art, computer and beauty came together? Thanks to John Maeda, Casey Reas, Ben Fry and Jared Tarbell, I think I have somewhat of an answer!
Happy Monday everyone! xo, r
PS. Again, the above animation was written by the über-smart Jared, and because almost anything is too complex for my wee brain.

UPDATE: Processing strives to make it possible and advantageous for people within the visual arts to learn how to build their own tools―to become software literate. Currently I'm reading the book Processing: A Programming Handbook for Visual Designers and Artists. Just a few pages in, there's an excerpt by Alan Kay, a pioneer at Xerox PARC and Apple, explaining what literacy means in relation to software:
The ability to "read" a medium means you can access materials and tools created by others. The ability to "write" in a medium means you can generate materials and tools for others. You must have both to be literate. In print writing, the tools you generate are rhetorical; they demonstrate and convince. In computer writing, the tools you generate are processes; they simulate and decide.
I like that. I like that a lot.
