Work is finally over. Drove in early this morning around 6am. I was the first one to arrive in my department. Packed up what was left and took them to the car. Read a few 'Good Luck' email in respond to my Farewell note from Friday [I didn't attach that colored photo by the way. I looked too happy in that one! :-)]. Dragged and trashed everything from my desktop. Cleared out all my history, cache and bookmark items from all the browsers. Deleted all my content from my hard drive [work material all saved on servers]. Uninstalled all the 'extra' software. Emailed my lock combo for my laptop, etc. Everything systematic.
I stayed 'til about 8.30am. Why drag it out! I'd already said my goodbyes last Friday. There was this one coworker/good friend [who's gay] that didn't go in Friday. I've gotten to know him pretty well from the past few years. We have grown quite comfortable with one another about various subjects. We can talk about everything under the sun. He would always come by and tell me silly jokes, and I would crack up! He would bring me candy, too.
So this morning I waited 'til he showed up like he said he would. I saw him come in but he sits a good distance. He didn't say a word on MS Communicator [instant message] nor walk over like he usually does. Finally on Communicator I said that I was leaving. He replied and said he might just cry... I felt horrible. He then walked over. He looked a bit flush'd and teary-eyed. He tried to give me a handshake but I just gave him a big hug and then proceeded with a handshake. Good luck and goodbye. We kept it brief. He had mentioned before that he feels the strongest bond with me in the office. I feel the same. I will miss him very much.
When I was driving home. I text'd him and said: "Good luck Meester Stones. Sadness has left the building..." If you know me well enough, you would get the meaning of that one. Happysad. There are no goodbyes...

I just want to scream right now! Sorry not to you. I picked up my reply email to you left right after my tax filing chore. I blah blah about stay all night for work and still get up for another meeting. Then lotus and bamboo, then my new book "Hidden Meaning of Chinese Symbols". And your picture. When I pushed send button, It went somewhere but your email box. I was told the delivery failed. I can not retrieve what I just wrote. I am like MAD COW - really, really MAD. I was totally robbed but do not know who did it. Yahoo or Jerry Yang.$#$#$#

I agree with Kevin - closed chapters are the beginning of new chapters - hopefully better ones.

I would love someone to bring me candy at office and have a little "girlie" chat. It is so dull at my current office. I used to have a lot of great friends in my last job.

Nah, old acquaintance shouldn't be forgotten. It's always good to forge this kind of friendships at work. It certainly makes a difference *Hugs*

Good luck to you and your endeavors. I will keep you in my prayers.
Keep me updated.

Quite an emotional post that was accompanied by Auld Lang Syne in the background. It would be too hard for me to say "Goodbye" without "balling." :-|
Here's to new beginnings and new-found friends.

One door closes and another will open. You were there for me during my time. I am here for you during your time.
Big bearish hugs to you, handsome!

All good things. In just the right time. And in just the right beautiful space. I wish you happiness and contentment. Always.
